I'm Kira--a native Texan, lover of new plays, fostering community, and iced tea.

My work could be defined as: female-centric, hopeful, and inherently Southern.

I am loyal to the theatre because I find it to be the most intimate exchange between audience and artist. It requires all parties involved to be vulnerable and engaged with the present moment. I am drawn to underdog stories and quirky wanders. I strive to write complex characters who can't keep quite anymore and find the power within themselves to challenge the status quo.

Thanks for taking an interest in me and my work.

Rockwell succeeds in the toughest goal for any playwright — generating a world of real people that satisfies while making you want to know more.
— Nancy Churnin, The Dallas Morning News
I never imagined the young woman would deliver one of the most poignant and distinct pieces I’ve seen in all four years of the fest!
— Tiffany Antone, Artistic Director, Little Black Dress Ink
